With heavy hearts and loving respect, we share the news that l.a.Eyeworks’ co-founder/designer Barbara McReynolds passed away peacefully on May 18 in Los Angeles.

Barbara’s talents and strengths were many, but chief among them was her remarkable ability to transform thought into practice with incredible precision; to sift through the noise with unfailing trust in her intuition; to turn spontaneity into structure; to know and understand “the thing,” seize it, and then act with determination.

In her hands, Barbara could take the loftiest dreams of l.a.Eyeworks and make them into treasures that were real and grounded and lasting. There would be no story of l.a.Eyeworks without her.

And now, the two extraordinary pioneers — Barbara McReynolds and Gai Gherardi — are off to explore new frontiers in the glorious ether, while keeping watch over us at l.a.Eyeworks as they have always done.
