The artist says:
"As someone who has had a long love affair with the l.a. Eyeworks
brand, this short video is my valentine to the public face of the
store, where playful and provocative messages are broadcast daily.
The short film draws directly upon the narrative world created for
my latest film Softly, where dolls serve as actors, staged on carefully
crafted miniature sets. While
Softly is concerned with the end of a love affair this lighthearted
story relates the discovery of new love, whether it be a new boy or
new pair of frames. This time the setting is the boldly designed l.a.
Eyeworks store on Beverly Blvd. by architect Neil Denari, faithfully
recreated in miniature. The cinematography by Quyen Tran continues
the vision she so beautifully established in her work on Softly. The
perky, buzzy music was created by my collaborative partner, Japanese
composer Eiji Yoshizawa."
