Vision for the Future
L.A.Eyeworks sunglasses star in the The Matrix, the international blockbuster. Rebel Joe Pantoliano wears L.A. Eyeworks Streb in Flash Brown with a clip. The e-mails on this don't quit. And we're signing up for kung fu lessons and jujitsu and karate.

The dazzling, wildly cinematic film has been called the most convincing Sci Fi vision since Blade Runner (which also featured l.a.Eyeworks!). Character Joe Pantoliano/you know him as Cypher/ wears l.a.Eyeworks Streb with a sunglass clip. Designed in 1997 by l.a.Eyeworks co-owners Gai Gherardi and Barbara McReynolds, Streb explores the outer limits of creative technology. The frame epitomizes a conceptual thrust in the seamless metal wrap. Laser cutting leaps allows positioning the frame curve at critical points for the dynamic flow of a wrap and a perfect ophthalmic lens angle.

Streb, named for physics-defying dancer/choreographer Elizabeth Streb, is a favorite frame for Friends star Jennifer Aniston and actor Wesley Snipes. Streb is also part of a touring design exhibition by Wallpaper* magazine on 25 essential items for living.
