Where do l.a.Eyeworks glasses come from?"l.a.Eyeworks Eyeglass Design: History and Process"  l.a.Eyeworks provocative eyeglasses are recognized world-wide for their incredible design and high technology. In a rare invitation, the Los Angeles Pacific Design Center asked the designers to exhibit their work in the foyer for March and April.  Gai and Barbara's amazing installation included an exploration of their eyeglass evolutions, from never produced prototypes of the early 1980's and experimental frames to their collection for Summer 1998. The exhibition also revealed the playful culture that permeates l.a.Eyeworks, including specialty gifts from dog chews and monocles to l.a.Eyeworks "drinking glasses." Giant l.a.Eyeworks posters in acid colors filled the air of the Design Center in an l.a.Eyeworks explosion.  Interior decorators, designers and l.a.Eyeworks fan pressed their noses against the glass cases and immediately made a bee line for the Melrose flagship store. |
